Food Adventure in South Korea

and here it comes the crucial part about Korea herself. Their food! I hope they will make you drool that you want to fly there right this second. But, oh well not everyone like their food so I'll just leave them here. See if you're tempted to try. There are two categories here, 1) Restaurant and 2) Street food.

RESTAURANT

1. Yooganae Restaurant
Only seafood fried rice is suitable for muslim. It tastes the bomb. 
Price = 5500 won/person
Where = Myeongdong (landmark : H&M, Uniqlo Main Building & Shinhan Bank)
Verdict = 10/10



It doesn't look appetising compared to Mr. Dakgalbi but taste wise; Yooganae > Mr. Dakgalbi


2. Yang Good Korean BBQ Restaurant
Price = 20,000 - 30,000 won/person
Where = Yeoksam (Yeoksam Staion, Exit 6)
Verdict = 9.7/10





3. Drama Cafe (Tuna/Cheese Shake Rice)
Price = 6500 won
Where = beside Nami Library, Nami Island
Verdict = 7.5/10



4. Bibimbap @ Makan Restaurant
If you want authentic halal Korean cuisine, this is the place.
Price = 13,000 - 15,000 won 
Where = Itaewon 
Verdict = 7.9/10


5. Sindang Tteokpokki Town
Tteokpokki is rice cake. The difference here is, tteokpokki is eaten with ramen hence the rapokki name. There's no specific restaurant. And again, only seafood rapokki is suitable for muslim.
Price = 6000 won/person
Where = Sindang (Sindang Station, Line 2, Exit 6/8)
Verdict = 8/10

The last 3 places didn't get our visit as we couldn't make time. But if I ever to go there again, I'll make sure to try them out especially Gosami and King Crab.

6. Gosami (Grilled Fish)
Unfortunately, we didn't have the chance to give them a try due to time constraint but if you happen to visit Seoul, seriously this is not a place to miss!
Price = 7000 won/menu
Where = Shinchon Line 2, Exit 1

7. Lotteria (Fast Food)
You can try; Shrimp Burger and Squid Burger.
Price = 5000 won
Where = Lotteworld, Han River, 63 Building, and Myeongdong

8. Noryangjin Fish Market
Buy any seafood you want to eat like KING CRAB then go upstairs (food court). Ask them to cook for you.
Price = 20,000 - 50,000/kg (depends on season)
Where = Noryangjin


STREET FOOD

1. Kyeran-Pang (egg bread)
Price = 1000 won/piece
Where = Myeongdong
Verdict = 4.5/10



2. Odeng (fish cakes)
Price = 1000 won
Where = Myeongdong
Verdict : 4/10




3. Banana Milk
Price = 1300 won
Where = 7E, C4U & GS25
Verdict = 8.5/10



4. Milkis drink (carbonated milk)
Price = 1300 won
Where = 7E, C4U & GS25

5. Manjoo Hana 
Custard-filled 'corn ball'
Price = 3000 won/16 pieces
Where = Any subway station
Verdict = 9/10




6. Samgak Kimbap (Tuna Mayo)
Price = 800 - 1200 won
Where = 7E, C4U, & GS25
Verdict = 9.5/10

I even brought back to Malaysia 3-4 pieces


7. Red Bean Steamed Bun
Price = 1000 won
Where = Nami Island
Verdict = 10/10 during cold weather



8. Green Tea latte
Price = 600 - 950 won
Where = any hot drinks vending machine
Verdict = 8.9/10



9. Custard Bun 
It's a gift from our hostel mate and I tried looking for it but to no avail huhu
Price = N/A 
Where = N/A
Verdict = 10/10



10. Hotteok
Pancake sorta with honey + peanuts + brown sugar + cinnamon filling. Seriously, try!
Price = 1000 won
Where = Myeongdong, Namdaemun, Insadong, Ewha Womans Univesity & Hongik University
Verdict = 9/10



11. Pungo-Pang (red bean)
Price = 1000 won/3 pieces
Where = Myeongdong, Namdaemun, Itaewon
Verdict = 9.8/10



12. Ojingo (grilled squid)
Price = 3000 won
Where = Myeongdong
Verdict = 8/10

13. Bungeo-Ppang (fish-shaped pastry stuffed with red bean paste)
Price = 3000 won/piece
Where = Myeongdong
Verdict = 4/10 (too sweet)

I think there's only 1 type that I didn't try as I thought it's expensive lol.

Kultalle (honey and peanuts)
Price = 5000 won/box
Where = Myeongdong

Tteokpokki (I had this in my rapokki)

Verdict = 3/10



Eating all these though however.......................... had my friends ---- "Oi awat gemuk?" after 4 months of college break.

Translation : Why are you fat......?
